Our team is the ultimate blend of adventure, humor, and whole-hearted fun. First off we have Garrett Dahl- an engineering major from Seattle. He is an avid runner and snowboarder, and lover of all things adventurous. He has the personal skills that will help get our team to Amsterdam- and he's also hilarious. Next up is Clayton Long- a psychology major from Lake Tahoe. A top-tier skier, slack liner, and adrenaline junkie. Clayton is known for his eclectic humor and ability to make any situation fun. Finally, we have Michael Parnell- a media arts major from Kodiak, Alaska. He's got the camera skills to pay the bills- and he's also a runner, skier, climber, and lover of almost everything. These three combine to form a team with technical movie-making ability, amazing on-camera talent, and an unmatched drive to win!
This team provides a few things you won't get with other teams. For example, a cameraman with 7+ years of DSLR and drone cinematography experience. In addition to that, they have an unmatched ability to banter amongst themselves to create good content wherever they are. They have the charm and charisma to travel using only Red Bull- while making top quality edits at the same time. They are skilled in product placement as well, benefiting the brand of Red Bull even more. Finally, they have the drive to do whatever it takes to win. All in all, the Pineapple Crew is your best bet for a winning team!
Hailing from the dark woods of South Lake Tahoe, entering the world at a ripe 7 pounds 7 ounces, with a length of approximately 20 inches I've blossomed into the utterly bodacious young man I am today. Being a Tahoe local I was placed in a pair of ski boots before I could walk. Over the last 20 years of my life I've cultivated my own style of skiing that led me to the USASA Nationals four years in a row eventually working toward a winning performance through overall points during the 2016 competition.
Fast forward a few years, and I arrive at the one place that is a constant at almost every university in America... "that" dormitory known for its reputation for "fun". As a freshman in college at Boise State University living in this untamed place, I was introduced to the Pineapple Crew. Nowadays, all I do is study psychology in order to find a way to make everyone as stoked as I am and go on foolish trips with the Pineapples.
Born and raised in Seattle Washington, I was quickly thrown into an exciting life of competition and adventure. From the moment I could walk my parents knew that they would have their hands full because I was not slowing down. I have never been one for relaxing as I would much rather be playing all sports from Soccer, Track, Basketball, Football and Baseball to living a life in the mountains hiking and snowboarding. I was quick to realize that I was a fiend for a wild lifestyle.
This need for adventure drove me to Boise State University as I fell in love with the endless possibilities the wonderful city had to offer. It was in my first semester in the freshmen dorms where I met the Pineapple Crew, and we instantly knew that it would be 4 years to remember. Fast forward to today and I am currently in my second year of the Engineering program with hopes of doing humanitarian work around the world post graduation.
To start off- I am an adventurer. I'm an experienced skier, runner, hiker, climber, photographer, and traveler. I've always been known to climb higher, run faster, and push further than most people are comfortable with. I was born deep in heart of Texas, and have lived in a couple other places since then- a few years in Connecticut, 10 years in Alaska, and the last few years in Idaho. Growing up in Alaska, I rode polar bears to school, and went home to my igloo by the glow of the northern lights in the evening. Last year, I channelled my Alaskan spirit and left to Boise State University. Upon my arrival, I met the legendary gentlemen known as the Pineapple Crew.
I am now a media arts major- which means I make a ton of videos and not much else. I've been making videos since middle school, so I'm used to it by this point. I've always dreamed of going to Europe- and now I have the chance to do it for free. It's even better that I get to do it through a Red Bull sponsored contest. Im stoked to find out what Europe has in store for me!
